Comedy Night at the Rising Phoenix Taproom in King City is turning into one of the premier monthly events in town. Hosted by Comedian Michael Booth, each month a lineup of the best up and coming and professional comedians from all over California gather in the beautiful outdoor patio area of the taproom for a night packed with laughter and excitement.
Your Host for the evening is Santa Cruz based comedian Michael Booth. For the last 7 years, Michael has been hosting and producing comedy shows in Monterey, Salinas, Santa Cruz, Scott’s Valley and more, he has performed in the Santa Cruz Comedy Festival, Don’t Tell Comedy, and recently opened up for Casey Rocket at the Catalyst Club in Santa Cruz.
Your featured comedians for the evening are Angel Castro, JD Arandia, with headliner Corde Snell.
Angel Castro is a comedian based in the Sacramento area. Having lived in both the U.S. and Mexico, Sacramento comic Angel Castro uses his personal experiences and perspectives as fuel for his comedy. Angel jokes about family, race, work, relationships and real life stories. Angel performs regularly at comedy clubs in Northern California such as Laughs Unlimited, Punch Line, and San Jose Improv. Angel has participated in the SacTown Comedy Get Down festival and the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. Angel has previously opened for Max Amini and hosted for Steve Furry, Myles Weber, and Dennis Gaxiola. He performs for all types of audiences including clean comedy audiences. JD Arandía is a podcast host, stand-up comedian, and County Arts Commissioner. JD is Bay Area born and raised. He grew up on a steady diet of Cantiflas, Chespirito, Jim Carrey and The Simpsons and from the first time he made someone laugh he was hooked. He enjoys the art of comedy because it brings light to all aspects of the human experience.He has performed stand up since 2012 when he went to a comedy show in Richmond at the Boilerhouse Restaurant with local comedians from the Contra Costa College drama class.JD hosts the podcast "The Voice Party" which regularly features Richmond artists. He performs all over the Bay Area and has opened for numerous touring and professional comedians.
Your headliner for the evening is Corde Snell. Corde Snell is a California based comic with roots in both the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the Central Coast and LA. After graduating from UC Santa Barbra, Corde decided to invest fully into comedy and has been performing all over California in clubs like The Comedy Store, Cobb's, Punchline, San Jose Improv, Hollywood Improv and more and opened for names such as Moshe Kasher, Brent Ernst, Marcello Hernandez, Eddie Griffin, and Donnell Rawlings. Corde brings his unique brand of comedy stemming from his own life experiences and the absurdity that has surrounded them.
